What is Dsmile Care?

Dsmile Care is a free, not-for-profit online dental health service designed to give Australians support, trusted dental advice and where necessary, connect you with our partner clinics for treatment. Users can connect with Australian dental professionals and dentists via live chat, phone or video call.

How does Dsmile Care work?

Once connected our team will listen to your needs and concerns and provide you with the right advice. They can also connect you with partner clinics for any treatment that may be necessary.

How long do I have to wait to speak to a dentist?

Our dental health support team are available between 8am to 6pm AEST, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in Victoria. During these times, you can connect immediately with the dental health support team. If a dentist is required, we strive to have a dentist contact you within the hour, if not sooner.

Does Dsmile Care employ dentists?

Yes. Some dentists are employed by Dsmile Care. Our advice line will be answered by a dental nurse or a dentist (as deemed appropriate by us) however we have a network of dentists that use the platform to help and support Australians in their local areas. All of our dentists are fully qualified and registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as required by the Dental Board of Australia.

Why Dsmile Care?

Over seven million Australians don’t visit the dentist as often as they should. Dental caries is the highest cause of acute preventable hospitalisation in children under 15 years of age. 33% of Australian pre-schoolers have never visited a dentist. Australian dentists and dental care providers are some of the best in the world, yet many Australians avoid regular visits to the dentist – mainly due to cost, fear and inconvenience. This not-for-profit community initiative aligns with Dr Badr and other dentists’ desire to find the most effective, impactful and value-based path to better dental health.

How can I partner with Dsmile Care?

We strive to provide better dental health for all. This requires innovative and pioneering ways, in order to change the statistics and help stop almost entirely preventable dental health issues. If you share our values and vision we need partners like you to help achieve this. Please get in touch with us at partnerships@dsmilecare.com.au

Can anyone use the Dsmile Care service?

You must be within Australia and 18 years of age to use our service. Any request submitted from outside of Australia or by a person under the age of 18 will be cancelled.

How much does the service cost?

The Dsmile Care online advisory service is free of charge and is no cost to you. If one of our dental professionals recommends you to one of our partner clinics for dental treatment, their fee schedule applies and they may have payment plan options available. The Australian Government has a number of public dental initiatives available which can be found on this website: Government Dental Initiatives. If you have children aged between 2 and 17 years old and you receive an eligible Medicare payment, you may be eligible for Medicare's Child Dental Benefits Scheme (CDBS) of up to $1000 over two calendar years. This amount can be used for a range of dental services including examinations, cleans, fillings, and root canals. Please find further information here: CDBS.
